Audio Project

Foley Project (Without Background Music)
Foley Project (With Background Music)
I made this project by first uploading the movie clip to my downloads, which then allowed me to upload it to iMovie. Next, I ask my mentor (Karisma) if she could help me create the sound of someone walking on a plastic floor. So me and Karisma went to the stairs, in which she walked backwards and forwards in order to create the sound, and it was successful. Once that was complete, I then uploaded it via connector and cabler to my desktop files so it's there where I know it is. With that complete, it was time to assemble the foley experiment. I first applied the clip to the storyline and then applied the sound effects provided by iMovie itself for free. I then uploaded GarageBand, where I brought up the clip with the additional sound effects, in which I could record the soundtrack, I used the string ensemble with the keys of my keypad to create the sound track. I then saved it to my desktop, ready to upload to blogger.

Nursery Rhyme Project

To make this nursery rhyme project, I first needed to download the official karaoke of the song of YouTube so that I have a backing track. I then took the liberty to record my vocals in the recording studio, where it was all quiet and peaceful. After that was complete, I then uploaded it to my desktop files, where it was ready to import into iMovie. I also imported my soundtrack and also installed sound effects form the iMovie library to make the audio seem realistic.

Practitioner Factfile
David Carson is an American graphic designer, art director and surfer. He is best known for his innovative magazine design, and use of experimental typography. He was the art director for the magazine Ray Gun, in which he employed much of the typographic and layout approach for which he is known. In particular, his widely imitated aesthetic defined the so-called "grunge typography" era.

After taking a short quiz, I found out that I am a Kinesthetic learner, as I am known for doing the following:
  • Listening to music whilst I work
  • Be independent
  • Create images to illustrate my work
I am indeed this scenario and everything it says matches to my persona.

DSLR Workshop

This is my video that myself, Harry & Kieran created together for our DSLR project. The concept of the video is basically Kieran walking down a college hallway, only to find a random key on the ground. He then uses this key to open a nearby door, but what he finds on the other side is another story. We all used the same video clips but as individuals, we edited them to our own liking. I thought of a friendly, funny and old fashioned concept: a cartoon.

Technical Aspects
I found working with the camera really easy because we took shots that would follow the movement of the character and in the process, it turned out really good. We also did a little experiment after watching a technique video on the powerpoint, and that was the floor view where Kieran walked down the stairs, as well as picking up the key was a bit of experiment because we got to use different camera movements as well as experimenting with the controls on the camera. at one point we made it dark, and the next we made it light but we stuck to the original lighting. Whilst the others stuck to a more creepy vibe, I thought it was best that I kept the family friendly element encased within the video.

Creative Aspects
As a class, our main objective was to create a video with the plot consisting of someone from our mini groups to walk up to a key on the floor, and use this key to unlock a door. Using our imaginations, and the help of a technique video, we created the movie. Overall I am happy with how the film turned out and once it was put together in Premier Pro, it turned out perfect.

Group Working
Overall, I found that working as a group was really good because when we uppercased our ideas together, it pretty much summed up the film you see today. Harry was the lead of our group because he came up with the most agreed ideas. If I can recall, we didn't have any disagreements at all, we went with each other's ideas smoothly and listened to others suggestions.

Organisation
With careful planning, mainly a well put together storyboard, everything went according to plan, we all stuck to the original idea and never made any changes at the last minute.
